Public Workers Caught Running Up Tab for Sausages

Posted August 24, 2013

Ever wonder why the end bill on city projects seems so high? Officials in Nashua, NH were asking that very question at the conclusion of a sidewalk project after The Nashua Telegraph filed a public records request and discovered that city workers were running up a tab for, wait for it, sausages. That's right.

The Sausage King of Nashua enjoyed city business between August and November of last year, doing approximately $1,500 worth of sales, all on the taxpayers' dime. We can hope those were some good sausages, at least, but nonetheless, the workers in the New Hampshire town will be facing some close scrutiny for their unapproved purchases.

Nashua, located near Boston, has concrete contractors that might have done the job with more attention to ethics than its own city employees.
