Prowl with the lions during Conservators Center's Pumpkin Prowl
Posted September 27, 2016
Here's a unique way to celebrate fall - the annual Pumpkin Prowl at the Conservators' Center near Mebane.
Here's a description: "Join us in selecting, decorating, and carving the pumpkins; then watch as our keepers decorate our animals’ enclosures and introduce our animals to an autumn wonderland. Our animals love finding these new fascinating items in their space, and we enjoy watching as they investigate their gifts."
During the event, visitors can take a self-guided walk through the center, which features lions, tigers, caracals, wolves and many more animals from around the world. Staff will be stationed around the park to answer questions.
Porchetta, the food truck, will be there. Wine from Iron Gate Winery also will be for sale.
The event is set for noon to 3:30 p.m., Nov. 12. Pumpkin carving starts at noon. The park gates open at 1 p.m. The animals get their toys and gifts at 1:30 p.m.
Tickets are $20 for ages 12 and up and $18 for kids and seniors.
