Probationer wanted in Durham burglaries

Durham police are searching for a man wanted on burglary and larceny charges and for a probation violation.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are searching for a man wanted on burglary and larceny charges and for a probation violation.

Leron Kelly Owens, 24, of Hope Avenue and Waycross Road, is wanted on charges of second-degree burglary, larceny after breaking and entering and possession of stolen goods. Police said that he broke into a home on Mountain Brook Circle on June 8 or 9 and stole several items.

Owens is also wanted for violating his probation for August convictions on four counts of felony breaking and entering and two larceny counts. The state Department of Correction lists him as an absconder from probation supervision.

Owens also has seven other convictions dating to 2003, including assault by pointing a gun and assault on a female, DOC records state. He has served one, four-month jail term, in addition to probation.
