Probationer sought in Hillsborough break-ins
A Durham man on probation is wanted in connection with four recent break-ins at businesses in downtown Hillsborough.

Hillsborough police said that Lucas Elijah Stauffer-Weller, 32, of 6309 Garrett Road in Durham, is accused of breaking into one business in early October, then two on Monday and one on Wednesday. All the break-ins occurred in the early morning hours.
Investigators said they also believe that Stauffer-Weller tried to scam several Hillsborough residents by knocking on their doors and asking for money to help with a family emergency.
Stauffer-Weller is described as white, 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds, with a medium build. He might be driving a 2011 Mazda 3 with New York license plates.
Anyone with information on Stauffer-Weller's whereabouts or the break-ins is asked to call Hillsborough police Detective June Solomon at 919-732-9381, extension 34, during business hours or at 911 after business hours.
Stauffer-Weller is serving three years' probation for September 2010 convictions for felony larceny and breaking and entering in Orange County, according to state Department of Correction records.
He has eight other convictions from Orange County dating to 2000, mostly involving break-in and larceny charges, records show. He has served 11 days in jail and two previous probation sentences.
