— A Wake County principal has been suspended and is seeking a transfer, officials said Monday.

Knightdale Elementary School Principal Michael Williams was suspended with pay on July 14. Officials wouldn't disclose the reason for the suspension.

Williams has been principal at Knightdale Elementary since last fall and served as interim principal for a year before that. He has worked with the Wake County school system since 1999.

He has asked for a transfer to a new position, and the school board is expected to discuss that request Tuesday in a closed session.

Williams couldn't be reached for comment Monday.

Where do they send the principal when he gets in trouble? I mean, u can't send him to the principal's office. Maybe they just tell him "wait till your father gets home" and he has to sweat it out for the rest of the day.
