Preview Rock 'n' Roll Marathon course during fun runs

There is a fun run at 9:30 a.m. Sunday that will give runners a preview of the Rock 'n' Roll course in downtown Raleigh. The fun run meets and ends at Tir na Nog.

RALEIGH, N.C. — The Rock 'n' Roll Marathon and Half-Marathon is offering you a chance to preview the course and get a few training miles in for the upcoming race on April 13. 
There are three fun runs planned in downtown Raleigh in the coming months.The first is Sunday, Jan. 26, and meets at Tir na Nog at 9:30 a.m. You can choose from a 3 or 5 mile route. All runners will get an official Rock 'n' Roll Raleigh promotional T-shirt and a coupon for a 10 percent discount for Tir na Nog's Sunday brunch buffet. The run ends at Tir na Nog.

The next two fun runs are Feb. 16 and March 23. Details will be announced soon. 

More than 8,500 runners - more than 40 percent from outside the Triangle - have already registered for the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon and Half Marathon. 

The marathon is presented by WRAL and will benefit charity partner The V Foundation. Runners already registered for the marathon can sign up to join Team V. In addition to being fully reimbursed the race entry fee, you can also raise money toward cancer research and enjoy some VIP perks.
