Presidential campaigns make final NC push
North Carolina will be center stage as the 2016 presidential campaign enters its final week.
Posted — UpdatedBoth Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump will be in the state Thursday. Trump will be at The Farm, a concert venue in Selma, at 7 p.m. Clinton is to appear with U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, her opponent in the Democratic primary, at Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek in Raleigh at 7:45 p.m.
The candidates will have plenty of surrogates in the state as well, starting with Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine in Jacksonville and Sanford on Monday. Vice President Joe Biden will headline a Clinton rally in Charlotte on Tuesday, and President Barack Obama will make two trips to North Carolina this week on behalf of Clinton – Chapel Hill on Wednesday and Fayetteville and Charlotte on Friday.
Both Trump and Clinton, as well as republican vice presidential nominee Mike Pence and first lady Michelle Obama and former President Bill Clinton, made campaign stops in North Carolina last week.
