Preliminary Autopsy Results Released on Murdered Sampson County Woman

A mother found dead on her back steps was shot to death, according to a preliminary autopsy released Wednesday.

CLINTON, N.C. — A mother found dead on her back steps was shot to death, according to a preliminary autopsy released Wednesday.

Beverly Honeycutt, 37, was found dead outside her home at 214 Mathis Rd. near Clinton on Dec. 27.

She lived at the home with her two children, but they were not there at the time.

Investigators said there was no sign Honeycutt had been robbed.
