Precinct map shows Wake voting patterns
Voters in Raleigh preferred House Speaker Thom Tillis in Tuesday's Republican U.S. Senate primary, while most of the rest of Wake County favored his chief rival, Dr. Greg Brannon of Cary, according to a precinct level map compiled by WRAL.com.

The precinct map allows people to see patterns in Wake County voting in the Democratic and Republican primaries for Senate, district attorney and the 2nd Congressional District, which covers only the southwest portion of the county, as well as the three-way race for a seat on the state Supreme Court.
A WRAL.com team collected data Tuesday night from the State Board of Elections and used Leaflet, an open-source JavaScript library, to produce maps displaying precinct-level results across Wake County. The project matched precinct data with geographical data to display results.
Users can choose a specific race to see how each candidate fared across the county and can zoom in on their own precinct to see the results of the top vote-getters. The opacity of the map can be adjusted so users can identify nearby roads to help them zero in on individual precincts.
In addition to the GOP Senate results, other insights of note include Supreme Court Justice Robin Hudson's dominance across much of the county, Clay Aiken's clean sweep in the Wake County precincts in the 2nd District and the mix of support across the county for Jeff Cruden and John Bryant, the two Republicans likely to face a runoff in the district attorney race.
