Power restored at Crabtree Valley Mall

Posted September 24, 2010

— Crabtree Valley Mall in Raleigh experienced a power outage on early Friday evening.

A mall spokeswoman said the outage, which occurred just before 5:30 p.m., was due to a short in underground wiring that supplies power to the mall.

Progress Energy crews resolved the issue around 6:30 p.m.

The mall will continue to operate its normal hours on Friday night.

    That must've been a rush.

Thank God no one was hurt.

    God bless.

Underground wiring - I believe this is a flood-prone area. No rain lately, but I wonder if water has caused wiring problems there before.
