Power Outage North of Austin Leaves Hundreds In The Dark

— A power outage in Cedar Park, Texas, left between 900 and 1,000 residents without power Friday morning.?

?It was around 7:20 a.m. when crews from the Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC) were sent to restore power to customers in the area in Northwest Austin, which is home to around 63,000 residents.?

?Crews worked through Friday morning to completely restore power to affected customers. The outage was due to a transformer malfunction.

?Pedernales Electric Cooperative was originally formed in 1938 and currently provides electricity to approximately 290,000 meters in its service area. The cooperative's headquarters is in nearby Johnson City.
