Power outage affects 1,600 homes in Clayton

— Nearly 1,600 homes in Clayton were without power Thursday evening after a transformer blew.

The affected area is along U.S. 70 from Guy Road to South Lombard Street.

It is unknown why the transformer blew. Power is expected to be restored by 11 p.m. Thursday.

    Praying they have sufficient heat. It doesn't take long for a home to turn cold in this kind of weather once the heat's off.
