RDU Terminal 1

RDU spokesman Andrew Sawyer said that the problem was off the airport property, but that portions of the airport were operating on generator back-up power.

Sawyer said all essential systems were working. Inside Terminal 1, lights, status boards and automated check-in machines were working.

Sawyer suggested that travelers or those headed to pick someone up check their flight status with the airline.

About 90 percent of the power was back on by 4:30 p.m.
