ClayCreate Pottery Studio

North Raleigh is home to a new pottery studio that offers classes and parties for kids.

ClayCreate Pottery Studio opened in July off Durant Road. The 2200-square-foot studio has regular classes for kids to adults, along with private lessons for ages 7 and up; track-out programs; summer camps; and birthday party packages.

The party packages are designed for kids ages 6 and older and include instruction and materials for up to 20 children for handbuilding or eight for work on the potters wheels. Projects are available for pick up about two weeks after the party.

Matt Schweizer with the studio tells me that they began working on the studio in November.

"We wanted to offer a place where children could come and learn to throw on the potter's wheel," he wrote me in an email. "There are very few places that provide children that opportunity in this area."

ClayCreate is at 8471 Garvey St. in Raleigh. I've added it to our birthday party database and camp database.
