Popular curry food truck moving into Raleigh food hall

The Morgan Street Food Hall and Market will be opening this fall in the downtown Raleigh Warehouse District.

RALEIGH, N.C. — As the opening of a new downtown Raleigh food hall nears, more tenants are being announced.

Curry in a Hurry and Iyla's Southern Kitchen will be moving into the Morgan Street Food Hall and Market, a 22,000 square foot culinary incubator in the Warehouse District.

Award-winning chef Alaksha Surti will be opening Curry in a Hurry, the first brick-and-mortar location for her poular food truck, Curry in a Hurry. The truck is known for its variety of Kati Rolls, an Indian version of a burrito, a wide selection of curry dishes and Naan sandwiches.

Classically trained Chef Greg Nelson will showcase his devotion to Southern cooking at Iyla's Southern Kitchen. The space will be serving up dishes like Chicken and Waffles with homemade Pimento Cheese and Chow Chow slaw.

“My goal in finding the right culinary concepts for the Morgan Street Food Hall was to make sure I was not only offering a wide variety of choices but also that those choices had a tie-in to the local community,” said Niall Hanley, owner of Hibernian Hospitality Group. "Each of the tenants we’ve named has an exceptional story – whether it is Carroll’s Kitchen, a non-profit that aims to break the cycle of homelessness or a local food truck like Cousin’s Maine Lobster that has found enormous success but wants to expand; this is a way that the culinary community of Raleigh can grow and chefs and entrepreneurs can try new things on a smaller scale."

Raleigh Raw, Sasool, Oak City Fish and Chips, Cow Bar, Ginger and Soy, Boba Brew and City Sushi will also be moving into the new space.

Other food tenants will include:

Cousins Maine Lobster, a popular food truck company that won the support of investor Barbra Corcoran when it appeared on “Shark Tank.”
Carroll’s Kitchen: A nonprofit that provides job training and employment to women in the community with the goal of ending homelessness. This will be the company’s second Raleigh location.
Makus Empanadas: Founded in 2013 by brothers Hernan and Santiago Moyano and lifelong friend Ricky Yofree, the Durham restaurant serves authentic Argentinean empanadas with fillings ranging from pork chimichurri to sweet corn with specialty sauce and homemade sides.
Raleigh Rolls: Offers various flavors of ice cream scooped into rolls, packed in a cup and topped with a variety of toppings. This will be the first location for the company.
Wicked Taco: Offers signature tortillas, fresh-made salsa, Mexican-inspired sides and salads using local ingredients. This will be the restaurants second location.
Bella’s Wood Fired Pizza: High-quality pizza made with fresh ingredients along with a seasonal small place tapas menu.

Retail tenants include Hail Mary Mix, Five Points Baking Co., Mike D’s BBQ and The Soaperie.
