POLL: Clinton and Cooper lead in N.C., tie for Senate

Democrats Hillary Clinton and Roy Cooper hold significant leads over their Republican rivals in North Carolina while the U.S. Senate race between incumbent Republican Richard Burr and Democratic challenger Deborah Ross is tied. Among likely voters, Clinton leads Republican Donald Trump 47%-41% among likely voters while Cooper leads incumbent Republican Gov. Pat McCrory 51%-45%. Burr and Ross are tied at 48% each. The N.C. C News/Wall Street Journal telephone survey of 1,136 North Carolinians – 1,018 registered voters and 780 likely voters -- was conducted Oct. 25 and 26 by The Marist Poll.
