RALEIGH, N.C. — An employee of Meals on Wheels of Wake County was charged Wednesday with embezzling money from the aid agency.

Lea Lindsay, 42, of 6522 Old Fairground Road in Benson, was charged with embezzling $16,338 from Meals on Wheels between July 2007 and June 2008, according to an arrest warrant. She was released on a $10,000 bond.

Lindsay has resigned her position with Meals on Wheels and is cooperating with the investigation, said her attorney, Patrick Roberts. She plans to make full restitution to the agency and hopes to have the case resolved soon, he said.
