— A Rocky Mount woman was killed late Tuesday in what police describe as a domestic homicide.

Officers found June Joyner Brown dead in her home, at 108 Falcon Road, police said. Her husband, Joe Clyde Brown Sr., is a suspect in her death, but no charges had been filed as of Wednesday morning, police said.

Joe Brown had several cuts and was taken to Nash General Hospital for treatment. He was later transferred to Pitt Memorial Hospital, in Greenville, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.

June Brown's body has been sent to a medical examiner for a Thursday autopsy to determine the cause of her death.

The case remains under investigation.

Domestic Violence strikes again- very sad. Women need to report domestic violence when it occurs, and seek help. We need to teach our children that domestic violence is wrong, how to avoid it, how to deal with anger, and how to end the violence.

Considering he is critically injured, it is possible she tried to kill him and he defended himself.

If this goes like the typical Domestic Dispute around here, the husband did it, but won't be charged due to lack of evidence.

maybe she attacked him first and he defended himself, it doesn't say
