Police: Wachovia hold-up might be work of serial robber
A man who robbed a Raleigh bank Wednesday afternoon is believed to be the same man wanted in a series of other bank robberies, police said.

The robbery happened shortly after 4 p.m. at the Wachovia Bank at 2600 Hillsborough St., police said. The robber fired a shot from a handgun, but no one was injured, police said.
Investigators believe the man robbed the same bank on March 31, as well as the SunTrust Bank at 910 Kildaire Farm Road in Cary on Nov. 25; the Wachovia at 6623 Falls of Neuse Road in Raleigh on Dec. 29 and Jan. 21; and the SunTrust branch at 3620 Six Forks Road in Raleigh on Feb. 26.
A teller was injured in the Feb. 26 robbery.
In each case, the robber was described as a masked black man with a slender to medium build who is about 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-11 and has noticeably misshapen teeth. He also wore a dark blue sweatshirt with the company name "Chris' Detail" on the back or a black sweatshirt with the the number 25 on the front in several of the robberies, police said.
Wachovia, SunTrust Bank and the Raleigh and Cary Crime Stoppers organizations are offering a reward of up to $15,000 for information leading to an arrest in the cases. The N.C. Bankers Association is also offering a reward for the arrest and indictment of a suspect.
