It is a loss of the cash taken. There is no such thing as a "write off" in that you somehow get that money back in tax savings. This might go against the loss so if their effective tax rate is 30%(random guess) then the "loss" ultimately is 70% of what was taken. Likely, the amount stolen wasn't that much, it was 7AM, but they likely had to close for a while afterwards so they probably lost much more in missed revenue than the amount of cash stolen.

The reason for not offering a ton of resistance is because it isn't worth it. The amount of money lost is trivial in a robbery like this where nobody was hurt because of compliance. Also, the risk of such robberies is fairly low because restaurants usually have lots of witnesses so they don't get hit often.

Even many scholars today don't teach that the redistribution of wealth is wrong.

...I think the investigators got limited information from the ones who got robbed.

It's not like they could rob B. King, he's got like all those guards and things.

It was probably more of the FFRF activities. They are targeting anything that has to do with religion. I wouldn't put armed robbery past them.

Exactly what I was thinking. They were lucky if they even got enough for a full tank!

Why do so many just think it is OK to rob someone? This is a sickness.
