Police try to ID suspect in robbery of bank customer

Durham police asked for the public's help to identify a man who robbed a customer inside a SunTrust Bank on Wednesday.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police asked for the public's help to identify a man who robbed a customer inside a SunTrust Bank on Wednesday.

Police said that a masked man carrying a gun robbed a customer making a deposit at 4235 University Drive shortly before 5 p.m. He fled in a dark gray vehicle similar to a Dodge Charger or Chrysler 300.

He was described as a black man, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 190 pounds. He has a dark complexion and a voice described as "very strong and deep," police said.

Anyone with information about the man's identity was asked to call police investigators at 919-560-4583, extension 29366 or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for anonymous tips leading to arrests in felony cases.
