— A Raleigh man had his 22-month-old daughter in his car Wednesday while he was out on a vandalism spree, according to an arrest warrant.

Daniel Mulligan, 37, of 5415 Shaker Heights Lane, was charged with misdemeanor child abuse and tampering with a vehicle.

The warrant states that the toddler was with Mulligan while he was drinking in a bar and that the child was left alone in Mulligan's car while he let the air out of all of the tires on two other cars.

Sounds like this guys has some issues to deal with before he has anymore visitation with the child.

"If that was done to all 4 ofyour tires, how would YOU feel about it???" scubagirl

    DEFLATED!?!?

Why was he letting the air out? Maybe his ex was in the bar.

Sounds to me like the abuse charges may be piling it on a little. Unless of course the 2-year-old was actually out of sight for the time it took to let the air out. A half hour seems like a long time to deflate 8 tires.

"Letting the air out of tires isn't actually destroying anything"

Oh goodie, setting the stage for a fine upstanding offspring!

And I absolutely agree with what you said! we need more who parent their children, not befriend them no matter what.

"Some people aren't tough enough to be parents. Thought I saw another article where a woman left a child in a car while she smoked weed. Its tough to be a parent. Too many weak parents today. And the Mom of the 14 year-old wearing a nose stud is also a very weak parent. Tough parents stand up to their children when needed, but are ALWAYS there for them when needed."

Not that I necessarily disagree with what you said, but what does it have to do with an irresponsible 37 year old father taking his 22 month old toddler out drinking in a bar and then going on a spree of letting the air out of vehicle tires and being charged with vandalism and child neglect because he left the child alone in the car, in addition to taking her into a bar?

    WOW!

For those who think having the air let out of all 4 of your tires is not vandalizm, well then you must be a liberal, what would your call that? a joke? not if you get off work at 2 am and go out to go home and find your car can not be driven. If someone keys your car , its still drivable but that also is vandalizm, not to mention I doubt letting the air out of the tires with the weight of the vehicle is exactly going to prolong the life of the tires , good chance the belts in the tires have been damaged.
As to the father, useless man that he is needs to have some alone time behind some metal bars for awhile. I have no ill judgement of the mother, she was not in charge of his behavior , he owns that. The mother may of been working, who knows, we dont even know if they are married, but reguardless, this is the father and as the father he is responsible for his behavior. The mother was not there and therefor could not control his behavior, she isn't his momma.
