Police: Suspicious package at Rocky Mount hotel not hazardous

— Rocky Mount police have determined that a suspicious package sent to a hotel Wednesday afternoon did not contain a hazardous substance.

Staff at the Holiday Inn, 200 Enterprise Drive, called police to investigate the package after finding that it contained an unusual substance. The contents of the package were examined by emergency crews, who determined that they posed no threat.

The hotel lobby was evacuated as a precaution. No one was injured.
