Fayetteville, N.C. — Fayetteville police have arrested a man who they say sexually assaulted a woman before stealing her car Monday afternoon.
Police said that the victim met a man, identified as Diondre Kesean Jones, 22, of the 1600 block of Shively Court, in the parking lot of 24-Hour Discount Tobacco at 816 Reilly Road and willingly went with him. Once inside his residence, Jones brandished a handgun and sexually assaulted the victim, police said.
Following the assault, Jones made the victim get back into her car and told her to drive. While driving, the victim saw several people in a parking lot of Freddy’s at 1548 Bingham Drive and pulled in, jumped from the car, and ran inside the business.
Jones drove away with the car, which was found abandoned a short time later.
On Tuesday afternoon, Jones surrendered himself of A-1 Bail Bonds and was taken into custody. He was charged with first-degree rape, first-degree kidnapping, first-degree sexual offense, larceny of a motor vehicle and possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
Jones was being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center under $277,000 secured bond.
