Police seek Zebulon bank robber

A masked man walked into a PNC Bank branch at 300 N. Arendell Ave. in Zebulon on Monday morning and demanded money, police said.

ZEBULON, N.C. — Police were searching Monday for a man who robbed a Zebulon bank.

A masked man walked into a PNC Bank branch at 300 N. Arendell Ave. at about 10:30 a.m. and demanded money, police said. He fled on foot out the back of the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

He didn't display a weapon, and no injuries were reported, police said.

The robber was described as black, 5 foot 9 inches to 6 feet tall with a medium build. He was wearing blue jeans, a white T-shirt, a navy blue hooded sweatshirt, a red scarf or bandana, thick gray gloves and black tennis shoes.

Zebulon police said they are also looking for a white, newer-model, four-door sedan, possibly a Ford Fusion or a Cadillac CTS. The driver of the car was at a nearby Rite Aid at the time of the robbery and might have information that could assist in the investigation, police said.
