Police seek Raleigh sweepstakes robber

Raleigh police released a surveillance photo Friday in the armed robbery of a sweepstakes cafe on Capital Boulevard.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police released a surveillance photo Friday in the armed robbery of a sweepstakes cafe on Capital Boulevard. 

According to investigators, a suspect described as a heavyset black male entered the Good Luck Sweepstakes shortly after midnight Thursday and approached a store employee with a gun. 

The man took cash from the cafe and then fled on foot.

Police said the man was described as a 6-foot tall black man with a beard. He was wearing a red-and-black checkered button-up shirt, khaki pants and a baseball hat with the letter C on its front.
