Police seek Raleigh Subway robber

Posted May 20, 2012

— Police released surveillance images Sunday in the armed robbery of a Subway restaurant earlier this week.

On Wednesday around 8:30 p.m., officers were called to the restaurant, at 1705 Lake Wheeler Road, after employees reported that an armed man came in and demanded money from the safe.

The employees, who don't have access to the safe, gave him an undisclosed amount of cash from the register, the store's owner said.

Police said the suspect was described as a black man in his 20s with a thin build who stands about 5 feet 6 inches tall. He was wearing a dark-colored shirt, light-colored shorts and what appeared to be a mask made from clothing.

He fled in a gray or light blue four-door sedan, possibly a Hyundai, police said.

I too only clicked the story, to find out where the Subway runs and see if there was a link to the schedule.

At least he's showing he is a proud American by wearing that USA sticker and flag on his shirt.

I know, I have seen the headline a few times and every time I'm like, "What? Raleigh has a subway now?"

Just goes to show that you shouldn't take the subway in Raleigh.
