— Raleigh police investigators say they want to talk to two men who reportedly approached an 18-year-old Broughton High School student Wednesday morning and tried to get him to get in their car and leave with them.

The student declined, and although police say no crime was committed, detectives want to find the men "to clarify the intentions behind the encounter."

The teen told police he was walking to class at approximately 7:15 a.m., when a silver hatchback pulled up to him on the St. Mary's Street campus, and the men started talking to him through the front-seat passenger window.

Descriptions of the men were vague. Police said they were middle- to older-aged and that the driver's right hand was either wrapped or bandaged.

Anyone with information that could assist police is asked to call the Raleigh Police Department's tip line at 919-834-4357 or go to Raleigh Crime Stopper's website.

OK, I'll say it.....what race of ""middle-to-older-age" men are we looking for here? And could the RPD seriously not pull a plate from the camera footage? If not, what good are they (the cameras, not the RPD)? No help with what the subject of the talk was between the occupants and the student? And it's a bit early to say "no crime was committed here" isn't it? I'd wager there's a fair shot at trespassing if they were actually on campus.
