RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police on Tuesday said they are looking for the driver of a car who hit a bicyclist early Sunday near the intersection of Hillsborough Street and Ashe Avenue.

The car, likely a black 2000-2005 Chevrolet Impala, should have minor damage to its right front quarter panel and perhaps the right front door, authorities said. The car could also have damage to the right hand rear view mirror housing or the mirror itself may be missing from the housing.

Following the wreck, which happened around 1 a.m., the car fled the scene and was traveling on Ashe Avenue toward Western Boulevard.

Anyone with information about the hit and run should call Raleigh Crime Stoppers at 919-834-4357. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for tips that help solve cases.
