RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police are searching for the man who allegedly robbed a room at a Super 8 hotel Sunday afternoon.

Officers were called to a reported home invasion robbery involving an armed suspect at the hotel located at 2501 South Saunders Street.

A pickup truck seen leaving the area shortly after the robbery report was found abandoned in the 200 block of Seagrams Court. Brian Keith Polimeda, 43, and Jamie Renee Little, 24, were detained nearby and charged with being accessories after the fact to the robbery.

Officers eventually ended up at the Forest Edge townhomes at Seagrams Court and canvassed the area for hours with guns drawn. People living in the area said the police presence made them realize the seriousness of the situation and caused them to feel concerned about the safety of those nearby.

"I just think this is crazy. It's a lot of little kids are out here, and the person that was being chased could've killed a kid and everything," said resident Mahlik Kone.

"Kids are out here playing because they're at home and comfortable, and things like this happen. It could've been worse," said resident Sherry Neal.

Police said that the suspect was described as a black man with a stocky build who was about five feet six inches tall. The man had some facial hair and was wearing a plaid shirt and tan or brown jacket.

No arrests had been made as of Monday morning.

Police asked anyone with information about the incident to call Raleigh Crime Stoppers at 919-834-4357 or send tips by text or email. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for anonymous tips that help solve cases.
