— Police seized a knife and bullets from the Durham home where two people were found dead on Feb. 7, according to a search warrant obtained Monday.

Officers found the bodies of Martin Martinez, 42, and Toni Fowler, 46, inside their 111 Lynn Road home after a concerned relative asked police to check on the home. The relative told police that cars were parked outside the house, but no one answered the door.

No cause of death has been released, but investigators labeled the deaths homicides. Police said the slayings were not random.

Police also seized a bat with hair on it in the living room and a sword from the basement. A CD case and notebook paper were also taken from a child's bed in the basement.

Mail addressed to Carol C. Sanchez was also taken from the basement.

Money, including some foreign bills, was found in a locked box, according to the search warrant.

Police also executed a search warrant on a turquoise 1994 Chevy Caviler found at the rear of the home. Investigators swabbed various location on the vehicle, which belonged to an occupant of the home. It is unclear which occupant owned the vehicle.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Durham Police Department at 919-560-4440, extension 29322, or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200.
