Police: School bus driver ejected, hit after crash in Raleigh

A school bus crashed Friday afternoon near the intersection of Cross Link Road and Herndon Village Way in Raleigh, police said.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A school bus crashed Friday afternoon near the intersection of Cross Link Road and Herndon Village Way in Raleigh, police said.

There were no students on the bus during the incident, but a woman driving the bus was transported to WakeMed.

Police said she was ejected from the bus and run over by its back tire. After it hit the driver, the bus continued moving until it collided with a ditch and came to a rest.

Raleigh police said the crash is being investigated as a traffic incident.

No additional information was immediately available.
