Troopers: 1 dead in Durham County wreck
Officers responded to a serious wreck on Valleydale Drive in Durham.

DURHAM, N.C. — One person died Friday evening in a Durham crash, authorities said.
Highway Patrol troopers said the driver of a vehicle, which was towing a trailer, was traveling south on Valleydale Drive when he crossed over the center line, hit a culvert and then crashed into a tree. The vehicle then caught fire.
Troopers said the man was not wearing a seatbelt, but he was not ejected from the vehicle.
The driver, who was not identified, died before paramedics arrived, troopers said.
