Police: Raleigh woman assaulted husband in front of children

A Raleigh woman was arrested Saturday after police say she pointed a loaded gun at her husband in front of her two children.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh woman was arrested Saturday after police say she pointed a loaded gun at her husband in a car where her two children were also riding.

Kimily Laquine Washburn, 37, struggled over the gun with her husband, causing two rounds to be fired, according to arrest warrants.

Washburn, of 7924 McGuire Drive, was charged with assault by pointing a gun, discharging a firearm within the city limits and two counts of misdemeanor child abuse.

She was taken to the Wake County jail and released on a $10,000 bond. She was ordered to have no contact with the victim.
