— Police said Wednesday that they are investigating a shooting death – the third since Sunday – in Sanford.

Few details were released, but authorities said Thomas Shaquille Rader, 20, of Sanford, was found shortly before 5 a.m. at a home at 210 Harrington St. and was taken to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, where he later died.

Authorities said they haven't ruled out the possibility of the case being an accidental shooting but that the case remains under investigation.

Early Monday, police were called to 1305 Goldsboro Ave., where they found Stacey Lamont Morrison shot at least once.

Morrison, 31, of Sanford, was taken to Central Carolina Hospital, where he died.

Shortly before midnight Sunday, officers were called to 2820 Eames Drive in reference to another shooting and found that someone had fired shots into an apartment.

Travis Richardson, 30, of Sanford, was struck by the gunfire and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Guns are NOT the problem, People who have no common sense , no respect for other human beings and a "it can't be my fault" attitude is just the beginning of what is wrong with the world!

Sanford is not the new Durham.

There is no "gun problem". Its a people problem.

If you flood the streets with alcohol, you'll have more drunks and drunk drivers, if you flood the streets with guns you'll have more people getting shot...It is a gun problem!

One of the reasons we left Mi to come to NC was the culture of community support. Back north, there is only a tribal attitude of "don't snitch, we take care of our own." This has permutated into 2 generations of street wars and gang violence. Cops hands are tied. Here we were seeing quick arrests and crimes solved in days. When 'snitching' becomes a bad thing the results are catastrophic. We need to be a community that cares enough about each other that bad things are punished as quickly as possible. That's what civilized people do. And - before you read anything into this, it's not about race - it's about doing what's right.

disgusted 2010: so you think its not ok for someone who is found in possession of 2 ounces of marijuana to have a firearm, but it is o.k. for someone convicted of misdemeanor assault by pointing a gun?

There seems to be a serious gun problem in Sanford.

Typical thinking. Don't blame people just blame things you don't like. Since you are so against "snitches" I guess you also support felons having guns as it is their right just like their "living" is owed to them by those oppressive people who have the audacity to go to work every day.
