I wonder if this machete would have passed the two feature assault weapons test? I bet it didn't have a collapsible stock or a barrel shroud ... and there's a strong chance it didn't have a flash suppressor either. Clearly the solution is to ban all machetes.

Better put a ban on the machete.

    That's it!

We need more machete regulations and laws.

Look back at the slaughters in Rwanda back in the 70`s...1000s killed by machetes, clubs and knives in churches, schools and hospitals. Take away or have limited gun availability or make them highly expensive and people will find a substitute to bring harm or terrorize. It may have been 40 yrs ago but could just as easy happen today. People with weapons of any kind have the upper hand against those innocent victims that don't. Unfortunately there are people out there that will use any means they can to kill, create a crime, or promote violence.. Glad this person escaped unharmed in the robbery and I hope they catch the guy.

Maybe we need to have background checks and permits for garden tools?

Meanwhile, more people are upset about persons having fox pens than dealing with persons committing crimes and their victims. Of course, unless you grow corn or have bamboo in your yard you don't "need" a machete so they should be either outlawed or the length of the blade limited to 3 inches so that if someone DOES decide to use one for violence there'll be less cutting. Yeah...that all makes perfect sense to me.

He didn't have access to a gun, probably couldn't pass the background check or afford one, so he did exactly what a criminal will do when guns are not available ---> He selected another weapon.

Can we get the entire liberal lemming puppet show to start a "ban machete's" movement now? It's obviously the machete's fault and not the sorry sack of dung weilding it.
