Police: Man used pickup truck as weapon during dispute at Wake Forest Walmart
A man has been charged after Wake Forest police say he slammed his pickup truck into another vehicle Wednesday evening at a Walmart on South Main Street.
Posted — UpdatedAccording to authorities, 21-year-old Bryan Gonzalez of 1704 South Main Street, slammed his pickup into another truck at about 8:20 p.m., pushing it onto its side and trapping a man and woman inside.
Witnesses told police that Gonzalez ran from the scene after the incident. Officers later found Gonzalez, and he was arrested after several witnesses identified him as the driver.
Gonzalez was charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, careless and reckless driving, no operator’s license and felony hit and run.
The victims of the assault were transported to WakeMed on New Bern Avenue, but their injuries were not life-threatening. The incident was the result of a domestic altercation, police said.
