Police: Man touched feet of UNC-CH coeds

Posted May 17, 2011

— University of North Carolina public safety officers on Tuesday arrested a man accused of touching the feet of female students in class.

Christopher Deas, 35, no address available, was charged with three counts of assault on a female by unwanted touching. Police said Deas isn't affiliated with the university.

Investigators said they are looking for other possible victims or witnesses to the alleged activity, both at UNC and elsewhere in the Triangle.

Anyone with information about the case can call UNC public safety investigators at 919-966–2120 or their local law enforcement agencies.

"If that law is on the books, it is racist." - The overplayed race card again. Is eating rice racist because if so I need to go get another lunch.

justinm you may have a point. I had forgotten about that particular modus operandi with the feet. Could easily be the same guy.

For those wondering why its a crime - never heard of a foot fetish? What a sick dude.

If that law is on the books, it is racist.

Are you kidding? What does race have to do with anything? Would you want a black man walking up to you or your daughther touching your feet? I don't care what color they are.....don't touch MY feet!

The bad thing about UNC is that it is an open campus. Anybody from off the street can walk into a clssroom and touch feet or open fire. Something needs to be done for the safety of the students.

It's the campus police. I went to UNCC and they will arrest you and take you to Metro jail if you get accused. The judge in my case took it so serious that he made me wait until last I was the only person who got their case dismissed for assault on a female. Every other case got the max penalty, and probably 2/3 were first offense. I was the only case that wasn't investigated and I was the only case that was charged by UNCC Campus Police. I'm sure they have pressure to over react because they are a school, but the result is that no one takes their charges serious because they bring stuff like a guy touching someone's foot to court. I'm sure he was just trying to get them to take their feet off the chair in front of him or something. Only rich girls from Matthews or Concord would call the police.
