A Columbus County man has been charged with selling phony tickets to a University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill basketball game, police said Wednesday.

John Graham Jr., 50, of 220 Walls Lane in Chadbourn, was arrested Saturday on charges of obtaining property by false pretense and resisting arrest.

Chapel Hill police said someone bought tickets to UNC's game against Duke University online and learned they were fake, so they worked with police to apprehend the ticket seller.

Someone ordered four more tickets to the UNC-Duke game, and officers arrested the seller as he tried to collect payment for the tickets, police said.

If people stopped supporting the business of scalpers, true sports fans would be able to get tickets. I will not buy a ticket above face value. When you buy from a criminal like this guy, you basically encourage the theft of reasonably priced tickets from kids and regular people that cannot or will not pay many multiples of face value. And if you get tickets from a "non-authorized ticket outlet" and they are listed at face value, that should be a clue you are being scammed.

Must have been a Duke grad to buy those tickets....Obamacare are you sure... he could be in with the sports program at UNC...and the student there....

LOL @ the UNC* sweater.

Its a Game ,So he played someone

sweetjess-

My apologies...but at least we know for a fact that is was NOT a Duke sweatshirt.
