— Rocky Mount police are searching for a 22-year-old man they believe robbed and stole the car of two people who had given him a ride home early Saturday.

Demeion Parker is being sought on charges of armed robbery, larceny of a motor vehicle, assault by pointing a gun and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Police said that a man and woman dropped Parker off at his 1232 Planters St. residence around 3 a.m. He went around the back of the building and came back with a shotgun.

Parker stole $25 and the man's gray 2000 Dodge Stratus, police said.

According to state Department of Correction records, Parker served three months in 2008 after his probation for drug possession with intent to sell was revoked. He has also been convicted of carrying a concealed weapon.
