— Garner police are searching for a man who robbed a hotel and convenience store last week.

Authorities said that a man with his face covered entered the Best Western hotel at 1595 Mechanical Boulevard armed with a knife at about 11:40 p.m. Friday. He jumped over the front desk counter and demanded money, police said.

The man fled on foot with $114 in cash, police said.

Authorities said the same man, still armed with a knife, entered the Family Fare convenience store at 1535 U.S. Highway 70 at about 10:15 p.m. Saturday. Police said the man went behind the counter, located a clerk in the back room and demanded cash from the register.

Prior to entering the Family Fare, police said the man was captured on surveillance camera entering an Econo Lodge, but left shortly after because the counter was too high to jump over.

The man was last seen wearing black jeans, a grey hoodie, blue jeans and black and white sneakers.

Anybody with information is asked to call Garner police at 919-772-8810.
