A man wearing a military uniform was shot and killed Wednesday morning in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Tamarack Drive, Fayetteville police said. 

<b>FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.</b> — A man wearing a military uniform was shot and killed Wednesday morning in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Tamarack Drive, Fayetteville police said.

Officers responded to the Lake in the Pines Apartments at about 11:45 a.m. No arrests have been made, but a man with dreadlocks was seen fleeing the area in a dark-colored compact sedan following the shooting.

Investigators are working to determine if the victim was an active-duty member of the military and if he was a resident of the apartment complex.
