Police: Man in military uniform killed in Fayetteville shooting

Posted July 30, 2014

— A man wearing a military uniform was shot and killed Wednesday morning in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Tamarack Drive, Fayetteville police said.

Officers responded to the Lake in the Pines Apartments at about 11:45 a.m. No arrests have been made, but a man with dreadlocks was seen fleeing the area in a dark-colored compact sedan following the shooting.

Investigators are working to determine if the victim was an active-duty member of the military and if he was a resident of the apartment complex.

Anyone with information about the shooting should call Fayetteville police at 910-237-9391 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483-8477.

Forget the gun debate for just a minute here. This man who was killed, was he in the military? The story claims he was in a military uniform, but, does not make claims of a military man. What gives?

Now to that darn gun who hates everyone....

I have yet to see a gun load or aim itself so lets put the blame where it belongs of a person if they do not have guns some will use knives cars or yes even hammers to take somebody else out

The ironic part of their argument is that they sight actions of the very people we have a need of defending our selves and our families from as a reason to take them from everyone one else.

All about your evil guns. Why can't you assign blame to people? Most probably the people that you want to receive entitlements and never work or be productive.

Do you not understand that if you have your way and honest citizens are robbed of their ability to defend themselves the "entitled" will prey on us like the animals they have become. And don't talk about the police, that by the way you hate, stepping in to save you.

There just are not enough guns around!

We should ship more arms to the mid-east like we should have more guns in Fayetteville....

I wish we could find a safer place for our members in the military and their families.
