— A man was charged late Sunday with fleeing the scene of a fatal wreck, Rocky Mount police said Monday.

Donald Oliver Jones, 22, no address available, was charged with felony death by motor vehicle, felony serious injury by vehicle, driving while impaired, driving while license revoked and resisting, obstructing or delaying an officer. Bond was set at $26,500.

Police said Jones was speeding and ran a stop sign at the intersection of Morning Star Church and Old Battleboro roads at about 5 p.m. Sunday. His vehicle collided with another vehicle, flipped and caught fire.

A passenger in Jones' vehicle, Antone Felder, 23, was killed in the wreck.

The occupants of the other vehicle were taken to Nash General Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said. One person was then taken to Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.

Police said Jones ran from the scene but was arrested later.

Re elect no one,,,, get out and vote,, its time to take our country back

That is the biggest problem is in getting people out and voting. Seems like many just don't want to take the time, or simply don't care.

It is a sad state of affairs when a human life is only worth $26,500 and the driver will probably be driving again before long and he will probably be drunk! This country is way to easy on drunks!

So now a life is only worth $26,500? He was drunk, and had a revoked license! No wonder these types of animals think its okay to drive drunk, stab 92 year old woman as happened in Roanoke Rapids and so forth. Human life isn't worth much!
