Police: Man fatally shot in Wayne County backyard

Around 9:30 p.m., deputies with the Wayne County Sheriff's Department responded to a home at 109 Arrowhead Road. They found 35-year-old David Demarlo Thompson, a resident of the home, lying in the backyard with gunshot wounds.

Officials said Thompson died on the way to the hospital.
