Police seek father suspected of shooting son

— Police and SWAT team members surrounded a home in Willow Springs after they say a man shot his son Sunday.

Police said the gunshot wound was to the ankle and not life threatening and the victim, who is in his 20's, was not cooperating.

A Wake County Sherriff’s Office spokesperson said the shooting occurred around 7 p.m. at 6515 Hilltop Road in Willow Springs.

No other details were released as of Sunday night.

    They'll have the father in custody sooner than later. His emotions are running so high right now from a father and son situation that he can't think logically or rationally. This was something he probably never dreamed of happening in his lifetime...shooting his own son. Thus, by having not planned it, things such as checkbook, cash, fuel, food, transportation, shelter,communications, etc, will expose him to authorities once those necessities start to dwindle. Tic toc, tic toc.

    Judging from the past standoffs, The WCSD has responded to. This man was smart to run. At least he is still alive. This story has more to it, then was is known so far..................It will be interesting to fine out ........the rest of the story....... "Paul Harvey"

    So, not cooperating? Keep him until you find the father to make sure he is okay just in case his story is that - a lie. The let him go and send him a bill for the charges for law enforcement involvement, medical care.
