Police investigating armed robbery near UNC-Chapel Hill campus

According to the email alert from the UNC Department of Public Safety, the victim said three men robbed him near Pantana Bob's, at 305 W. Rosemary St., around 11 p.m. Saturday.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill alerted students and staff Sunday evening of an armed robbery that happened near a sports bar near campus over the weekend.

According to the email alert from the UNC Department of Public Safety, the victim said three men robbed him near Pantana Bob's, at 305 W. Rosemary St., around 11 p.m. Saturday and took off running west on Rosemary Street toward the Key Food Mart.

The victim was not a UNC student, the alert said.

The descriptions of the men were vague, but Chapel Hill police said two of them were wearing black shirts and a third was wearing a pink shirt and was described as having gold teeth. One of the men also had a facial tattoo.

A Chapel Hill Police Department watch commander said Sunday evening that the case is still under investigation and that he couldn't provide any other details about the report.
