SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. — Three people were shot late Tuesday during an altercation at a home in Southern Pines, police confirmed Wednesday.

Authorities responded to a call around 10:30 p.m. and found two victims at 430 Ridgewood Drive, off Richards Street. While officers were at the scene, they received another call about a shooting victim at the Greenmont Apartments at 100 Dean Ave, about a half-mile away.

Derrick Devontae Harris, 23, Gregory Gerard Stancil, 47, and Emmanual Zechariah Johnson were all airlifted to area hospitals for treatment. Their conditions were not released Wednesday morning.

Police were searching for three black males who wore all-black clothing and black masks at the time of the shooting.

No other details about the shooting were released, which worried nearby residents.

"We have a lot of activity around us, on the outskirts of the trailer park, but when it's this close to home, it's kind of scary," Valerie Barnes said.

Anyone with information should call the Southern Pines Police Department at 910-693-1481 or the Crime Tip Line at 910-693-4110.
