Police investigate Raleigh bank robbery

Raleigh police released surveillance images from a bank robbery on Capital Boulevard Saturday afternoon in an effort to gain information from the public.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police released surveillance images from a bank robbery on Capital Boulevard Saturday afternoon in an effort to gain information from the public.
Shortly before 1:30 p.m., police said, a man approached the teller at Banco de la Gente, at 4011 Capital Boulevard, showed a weapon and demanded money. The man then fled in a car. Witnesses described him as Hispanic, 5 feet 9 inches tall and about 170 pounds. He wore an earring in one ear. Surveillance images show wearing a red bandana, sunglasses, a green shirt with the number "22" on it and blue jeans.  Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at 919-996-3555 or Crime Stoppers at 919-834-HELP.
