Police investigate Franklin Street assault

Chapel Hill police are asking for help in investigating an assault that took place last week on Franklin Street.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Chapel Hill police are asking for help in investigating an assault that took place last week on Franklin Street.

Police said Randy Lee Roland, 39, of Chapel Hill, was injured in an altercation outside Local 506, a bar and music venue at 506 W. Franklin St., during the early morning hours of July 13. An update on his condition was not available Monday.

Anyone who might have seen or heard a fight on Franklin Street early July 13 is asked to call the Chapel Hill Police Department at 919-968-2760 or Crime Stoppers at 919-226-2746. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for anonymous tips that help solve cases.
