— Police arrested a 23-year-old Raleigh man Saturday after he allegedly injured someone when he struck two vehicles while leaving the scene of a crash he caused on Spring Forest Road Friday night, warrants state.

Matthew Ryan Burkle, of 1812 Silvermist Court, was intoxicated when three witnesses saw him flee the crash scene in a 1996 Jeep Cherokee, investigators said.

The injured person, whose name and condition were not released, was hospitalized.

Burkle was charged with driving while impaired and felony hit and run. He was being held in the Wake County jail Sunday under a $13,000 bond.

Ok to drink. So not ok to drive! Send him to jail. Forget taking his license away...he'll just drive without one, and maybe without insurance. Lock him up. The only way these drunk drivers learn is if you lock them up.

It's never good to have your mug shot posted in the news. They never look good and in most cases they make a person down right goofy looking. Bottom line here is just stay out of trouble and don't do anything stupid, that way you don't subject yourself to public humiliation. Is obeying a law and staying out of trouble too much to ask for ?
